Social Housing (Band A)

Social Housing provides homes for households on very low incomes. Rent is charged at 25% of total assessable household income plus 100% rent assistance entitlement, up to Stellar Living’s maximum rent, which is 74.99% of current market rent.

Stellar Living does not accept applications for Social Housing – all applicants are taken from the Department of Housing and Works’ Joint Waiting List.

How to apply

Applicants must apply through the Department of Housing and Works (DoHW) to join the Joint Waiting List (JWL).

You can check the Band A Income & Assets Limits to see if you are eligible.

Complete a Housing Options Assessment, available from the DoHW Public Housing website or a DoHW Housing Office.

You can submit the form in person, by email, post or fax. If you need to complete it over the phone, contact DoHW to discuss arrangements.
