Affordable Housing provides homes for households on low to moderate incomes. Rent is charged at 30% of assessable housing income plus 100% rent assistance entitlement up to Stellar Living’s maximum rent, which is 74.99% of current market rent.
Stellar Living does not have a waiting list for Affordable Housing properties. Applicants are sourced from the Department of Housing and Works (DoHW) Public Housing Joint Waiting List or by referral from other Community Housing Providers.
Existing public housing tenants whose income is above the Band A Income & Assets Limits can apply to DoHW to join the Joint Waiting List for Affordable Housing (Band B). DoHW over-income tenants should speak to their local Housing Office for more information.
Existing Community Housing tenants who are over-income for Social Housing should speak to their current Community Housing Provider about whether they can remain in their property or be referred to another Community Housing Provider, such as Stellar Living, who manages Affordable Housing (Band B) properties.
New applicants should look at Targeted Affordable Rental Housing pages (TARH) to see if they meet the eligibility criteria.
